富士山 Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji, or Fujisan, is located on Honshu Island and with 3776 meter, it is the highest mountain in Japan.

Mt Fuji's almost perfectly shaped volcano is a well-known symbol of Japan that has been worshiped as a sacred mountain and it frequently depicted by artists both from Japan and all over the world.

When we arrived in Japan, we considered climbing Mt Fuji but after realizing that we could give this great place only one day, we decided that by climbing the outstanding volcano, we would actually miss seeing it. Because we wanted to enjoy the view of the mount more than everything, the best option was to go to Lake Kawaguchiko which is easily accessible by train from Tokyo.

We've heard several times that clouds often block the view of Mount Fuji, and we postpone going there several times because of the rain, but in the end we were very lucky as we enjoyed a pretty clear view of the mountain!
